N35, Squirrel & Grape
The design, Squirrel & Grape was made on buffalo horns, one of our original ideas. Maki-e on horns needs a very careful making process. Ji-nuri (ground painting) is very carefully done and the Urushi is given plenty of time to dry up to finish. Good quality needs some painstaking process for the Maki-e on horns.

Gold Tuskegaki, Kotsugaki with a lot of hand set Oki Hirame and Taka-age.

HF20, Chocho Fujin (Madam Butterfly)
From Puccini's famous opera "Madam Butterfly", it is a tragic love story between Butterfly and an American naval officer. She sang, "They say that the ship will arrive when the cherry tree blooms." (It is written in Japanese on the back of the cap.) The officer finally arrived again but this time with his wife. The meeting made the madam so sad that she killed herself to end the tragedy.
