Minoru Oohata. Signature: Rakkan.
Title: Dento Kogei-shi. Born in 1951.
He learnt Maki-e from late Kashigi Hozo, and modern art from Kakinoki Akira, and became Dento Kogei-shi in 1994. He mainly exhibits at Nihon Sogo Bijutsuten. After spending eight years traveling the world to see different types of arts, his enthusiasm for Urushi art was renewed after all, and he returned to Wajima until today.

 
DE-110, Dokuganryu Date Masamune, (The one eyed Shogun Masamune). Date Masamune was the most famous follower of Ieyasu. Kotsugaki technique, drawing contour lines to outline the designs and Urushi is applied on the between the lines, and Kirigane or thin powders are sprinkled over the surface, and after the Urushi is dried, the object is polished, is on the rampart and the roof of the castle.The pine trees are Hira Togidashi technique and the armor uses Taka Maki-e technique.

DE-111, Kodaimonyo (An ancient design). The base is heavily sprinkled gold powder, and the design uses beautiful Tsukegaki technique and finished with Togidashi. The gold powdersand gold mixed with silver powders from #1 to #8 were used on the bird and flowers.
